Henry Harland, American novelist, was born in New York City and educated at the City College of New York and Harvard Divinity School. For his early novels he used the name Sidney Luska, pretending to be a Russian Jewish immigrant. In 1889 he moved to Paris, then in 1890 to London, where he remained.
